There is a really interesting article in today’s New York Times about eight to twelve year old girls being knowledgable about raunchy, drug-laden gossip. The article talks about how younger girls, ‘tweens, who aren’t necessarily teenagers yet being cognizant of celebritiy gossip, but rejecting celebrities antics as immoral and bad for girls. Maybe Maddie or Brianna, our resident ‘tweens, can let us know what they think about the article’s author’s argument, but I personally think it sounds right.
What do you think?

Ah i loved that article! But i wish the author had interviewed girls who have just hit middle school. Thats when the real pressure to be cool and rebellious begins (as she MENTIONED in the article…so good reporting says go see that side of it!)
