I refuse to watch it. The previews are enough. I just have one question, what on earth is wrong with these women? Okay so I have many more, but that’s the main one. There is this new “reality” show called Age of Love. It’s on NBC and it makes my blood boil so much that I can feel spurts of it coming our my ears and nose. While I could never stand the reality show craze, I somehow managed to disregard them. But for some reason this new show not only gets under my skin, it’s pushed its way throw muscle and bone: swimming through my veins.

These “forty something cougars” and “twenty something kittens” (yes these women are referred to as animals) are competing for the affections of a man. Since when do women need to compete for a man? Better yet, since when do women need a man? If we thought that the Paris Hiltons and the Britney Spears of this world knocked down the accomplishments women had built, well this show completely rips up the foundation. These women are not just making fools of themselves, they are representing all women. I, for one, refuse to have such poor representation. It is shows like this one that demolish our continual fight for equality. If this is how women can act on television, why should we be taken seriously in the real world? It’s horrendous, and while I know that there are wonderful shows that depict women as the strong, independent, successful and intelligent beings that we are, there is still an audience for the Age of Love.
