Vacation. The definition according to Webster’s online dictionary… a period spent away from home or business in travel or recreation… a.k.a. exactly what I needed this time 2 week ago.
I have just spent the last 8 days in Tulsa, OK. The oil capital of the world! Haha, who would’ve known? Born and raised on the east coast, the mid-west was definitely an experience. We went rafting on a river, out to eat among horse ranches, to Dallas for a shopping trip, etc, etc.
And, by far, the highlight of the trip was spending time with my best friend from school. Now I’m a sophomore as of this August, so I’ve only really known her for a year, but living two doors down from someone in college fast-forwards the “nice meeting you” period. I was working almost 100 hours a week! Between my CVS job, waitressing job and magazine internship… I was burnt out at its best. Thankfully, she was there, as I knew she only could be, to save me from myself. It wasn’t where I was that made me feel better, it was who I was with, and in this case, I only have her to thank.
Work hard, play hard. But most importantly, remember your friends, especially in time of need. They are definitely important and oh so worth it!
