So as I was having my nightly conversation with one of my best friends, she mentioned that she had paid a visit to Lane Bryant’s Web site, something she hadn’t done in awhile. Normally, Lane Bryant is hit-or-miss in the plus-sized clothing department. Well, imagine my surprise when my friend said that she had bought a pair of these brand-new jeans Lane Bryant introduced, called “Right Fit.”
Fulfilling my natural curiosity, I checked out the site. I was sooo happy to see what they had done. Well, you know how jeans, no matter what size, kinda just have varying waistbands and lengths? These denim wonders come in sizes 0-8 and three different colors: yellow, red and blue.
Yellow means straight, red is for moderately curvy girls and blue is for curvy girls. Usually I take a lot of this certain friend’s clothing suggestions to heart, so I wandered into my mall’s Lane Bryant that following Monday. I was so excited when I pulled on a pair of size 6 straights and my 2 sisters and my one sister’s BFF, who is deliciously flamboyant and utterly hilarious yelled “Girl not only do you have an ass in those jeans but they are slimming too!” That was all I needed to hear. Gone were the days where my best guy friend would joke about my “bass” with me. (Bass - n. a type of ass where you can’t tell the back ends and the ass begins).
Basically, I think these jeans are wonderful, because designers at Lane Bryant finally realized that not all women are the same, and therefore their jeans are not going to fit the same. I know it definitely made me feel even more confident than I’ve been feeling this summer! Definitely check them out if you’re a fellow plus-sized gal.

This is awesome. All women deserve to feel sexy, comfy, and free in their jeans. I went on a jeans hunt recently and was annoyed that the slim and skinny jeans were all over the place. I was cursing the people who forgot all about the women of color like myself with some delicious curvatures in all the right places…

These jeans are great! I have a big butt and smaller waist. My jeans are always falling off my waist. These jeans are AWESOME!! I wear a Blue 7 Petite. My fiance even noticed how great they are. He said, “I have never seen you wear a pair of jeans that fit you.” It’s true. I think the Red is similar to the old fit…and they just don’t have enough room in the butt and thighs for me. But the blue is perfect.

I’m so jealous I’ve never been able to wear Lane Bryant clothes period. They always do have nice things period.
