Right now I’m sitting in my living room. Yes, my living room. After a few stressful days of unpacking and last minute purchases I’m all moved into an apartment on SU’s south campus with 3 of my wonderful friends.
It’s actually really nice (for a college living arangemen) and I lucked out with my own room (even better)! Packing this year was so much more complex than last. Not only did I have my regulars: bed linens, towels, clothes, a few decorations… I also had to worry about furnishing our living room, kitchen, and bathroom. Poor me ;). With 4 us it actually wasn’t that bad, although I’m still waiting on one more girl to arrive so that it’ll be complete.
As exciting as freshman was, I almost think that sophomore year has as much new things to look forward to as well! For one thing, my classes this year are, or at least should be, spectacular and my schedule is great as well. My requirements include the history of fashion design, beauty diversity in the media, and graphic arts… fun, right?! Then I have the Junior Panhellenic Council for which I am an ambassador from my sorority (AXO). It’s a governing council right beneath Panhell (short for Panhellenic Council) consisiting of all new girls, from spring 2007 pledge classes and is a great way to get involved with Greek life as a whole. Finally, I have my 4 month membership to Karma fitness. It’s an awesome fitness center right near my campus that has incredible instructors teaching classes from spinning to yoga to kickboxing. With the pre-paying option I’m forced to be a committed member, and oh so very thankful for that. Not to mention that I also have all my previous semester activities: 2 magazines, dance classes, catering, etc, etc.
I am certainly going to be busy, busy, busy… just the way I like it :). But just in case it get’s a little much I know have a real home to go home to. A humble abode to call my own.
A new home sweet home
