So exciting! Violet on the Runway, a new YA fiction book about a small-town girl who makes it big in the modeling world hit bookstore shelves yesterday. The author of the book is Melissa Walker, a former editor at ELLEgirl and Seventeen and a big-time freelance writer (she has an article in this month’s Glamour!). Ms. Walker is a definite friend to young women: check out her clips on her web-site for her savvy articles that’s she’s penned for major teen and women’s magazines. And while we’ll have the review up later this week, it seems already that Violet is a smart and positive role model for young women, who is glamorous but also has a good head on her shoulders. And knowing Melissa Walker’s precise writing, while this book has a tres chic cover, the well-developed plot is definitely going to be much more than brain candy.
