I hate to say it, but I feel bad for Britney Spears. The girl spends her teen years on top of the world, selling out concerts worldwide and making millions with her best-selling albums. Now, it seems like the girl-next-door we all once loved has gone bad, and very bad at that.
Spears’ has been photographed at her worst: post-shaved head, with absolutely no make-up crying her eyes out, you name it. Then, in August she bombed her VMA performance. Her body which was once in tip-top shape is more on the normal side now, and finally the icing on the cake. The poor girl lost custody of her two children, Sean and Jayden, this week. The two people in her life that have given her unconditional love are no more. Now PETA even wants Kevin Federline to get her puppies.
I’ll admit, it was probably for the best, as Spears has had plenty of drug and alcohol problems as of late. She even violated many rules that were set for her, and also drove under a suspended California license. The children deserve the very best of care. Quite frankly though, is Kevin Federline really it? The man who fathered multiple children and didn’t exactly treat former girlfriend Shar Jackson the best way? Spears clearly isn’t good for the children right now, but the question is, who really is?
On the bright side, Spears’ new single “Gimme More” has become a huge hit since its August release. If her album does well, she could most definitely be on the upswing. For now I think that everyone needs to leave the poor girl alone so she can get her life on track. Spears became famous at an extremely young age and I think it affected her in a huge way. The media is a powerful tool that can either help or seriously hurt. What are your thoughts?

I agree. I think people are being overly harsh. I know that the world or AMERICA, in particular, feeds of off other people and celebrities for their own entertainment, that’s not going to change anytime soon, but how can you expect someone to recooperate in front of 30 million people who are all expecting and hoping and willing her to fall?

I honestly don’t feel bad for Britney, she has had plenty of oppurtunities to turn things around for herself. I had so much faith in her that her children, family, and career meant something to her, but obviously they don’t. She needs rehab so bad, and not just a month or two, but she needs continual care until she can get her life back on track. The media needs to leave her alone as well, hopefully they’ll move on to the next celebrity ruining their life next.
