So I’m sitting here at my family’s computer, marveling at how beautiful the cloudy, dusty pink fall sunset looks right now. I’m still home, nearly five months after graduation. I’m working part-time down at my church and blogging for this great Web site right here. I can honestly say I’m not 100% happy but I am making do with what life’s thrown at me right now. Looking back, I am grateful and happy with what God has given me and I know that soon I’ll get out of this temporary state and begin the rest of my life.
When Life Hands You Lemons….
I want a full-time job in D.C. and my own apartment……………
instead I have a spacious home and a loving family who hasn’t kicked me out yet, despite me getting sporadic paychecks from St. James Church and GHQ.
I want a boyfriend once I get a job…………..
instead I am blessed with a wonderful, amazing, truly splendid male best friend who I hear from on a daily basis, who I go to when life sucks, and who I wouldn’t trade for the entire world.
I want to be thinner……….
instead I am happy that I am 5′10″, have fabulous brownish-red hair, and pretty eyes. Yeah, I learned I’m pretty hot stuff! haha
And now I’d like to leave you with the lyrics from The Rolling Stones:
You can’t always get what you want (no, no baby)
You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You just might find
You get what you need, ah yes…
It’s made me realize that you may not always get what you want, but if you try to make do with what you have, you’ll always get what you need in life.
………………..Make Lemonade.
Much love
