Here is a perfectly wonderful video of one of my favorite bands, playing one of my all-time favorite songs, ‘With Arms Outstretched’ at an amazing tiny little place in LA called the Hotel Cafe. SSSSSadly it is 21+ so Iiiii can’t go there but anyways, this is just wonderful.
—–note On the recording of this song (off of The Execution of All Things) feautures Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes) and a few other noteworthy men as Jenny’s “boy choir”
When I saw them live a few weeks ago, and this song came on I practically freaked out. I had squirmed up to the third row and every single person in the audience knew all of the words (inlcuding me!!!) and everyone put their arms up. It was just one of those moments where even though I was broken-hearted beyond belief (literally) as to the fact that some guy had shoved when I was trying to get up to the front, and even though I was really upset, nothing could really ruin it.
I hope you enjoy the video!!!!
my current playlist:
–Iron & Wine’s—’Our Endless Numbered Days’—songs ‘Naked as we came,’ ‘Sodom, South Georgia’
—The shins—-’Chutes too narrow’——songs—-EVERY SONG! but in particular:
–Pink Bullets–”but your memory is here, and i’d like it to stay, warm light, on a winters day”–one of the most beautiful moments of my life
–Saint Simon–I was listening to this song about a year ago in the car and I had kind of spaced out, and all of a sudden I heard “mercy’s eyes are blue, when she places them in front of you, nothing holds a roman candle to, the sudden warmth you feel inside” and i just thought “that’s what love is” (:::: I hope you feel that too.
xoxxo enjoy!
Oh also, if your in the mood for some maybe not freak indie per se but some definately different stuff, check out Sharon Van Etten
peace and love, xoxo
