So imagine my shock and utter disbelief this evening when I read on People.com that Jamie Lynn Spears, Britney’s little 16-year-old sister was pregnant. Apparently she and longtime boyfriend Casey Aldridge, 19, are expecting a baby sometime this summer. OK! Magazine was the first publication to break the news.

I can’t believe this family. I really and truly cannot. It’s a shame because I feel like both sisters are talented, great girls at heart but I can’t quite figure out if it’s their parents that caused them to make such bad choices. I feel like although I don’t agree with premarital sex, it’s basically going to come to the girls’ personal decision. It’s kind of interesting though, isn’t what Casey did illegal in some states since Jamie Lynn is a minor?

The girl has her own Nickolodeon television show, Zoey 101, a promising bit of kidtertainment that is now in major jeopardy. It’s just a shame that now she’s going to have to deal with something like this so young. I will give her props for keeping the baby though, that takes a lot of courage. It’s still just hard to fathom what this girl is going through, since she’s only my brother and his girlfriend’s age, which (trust me) when you’re 22, it seems so young.
