Every girl knows exactly what their wedding is going to be like, right? Well, let’s just say I played dress-up and all that as a little girl, but I never thought much about the details of my wedding. As a self-professed “girlie-girl” this is unheard of. Well, imagine my surprise a few weeks ago when I was sitting in a Silver Diner with my two of my friends, one male and one female. The male one asked me what I’d imagined my wedding to look like. I brushed it off and just shrugged “I haven’t really thought of it…”
When they both persisted, I then spilled out the most detailed, romantic description of what I want my wedding to be like. The only thing that was missing was the groom. I do know what I want his face to look like. I want it to tell me that we’re the only two people that matter in the room. I know that I want my wedding to be a Catholic wedding at my home church. I want a classy stretch black limo to take my best friends and sisters and me up to my house, where the reception will be. It’s very Father of the Bride, yet personalized to what I want. I’d love for seating outdoors under a tent with candlelit tables, red and white everywhere.
I think that the point of this post was to show you that you may not necessarily have to think hard about something, but when you know what you want you just know. Honestly, I don’t have to have exactly what I described, but I guess I’m just trying to say I’m way more of a romantic than I even thought I was. It’s perfectly fine to think about exactly what you want for your wedding, or how you see yourself in 10 years. Sometimes it’s fun to dream.

I used to always imagine it when i was young too… i think i always had this vision of being on the beach, hair flowing with some sort of beautiful fresh flowers in it, a long flowing dress that i designed and had tailored, my family and closest friends… a band… dancing the night away…. and endless wine and cake.
