This afternoon, my friend Becky and I saw the movie Definitely, Maybe with Ryan Reynolds, Isla Fisher and Abigail Breslin. It took place in New York City and after I watched the movie (which was really cute by the way, I highly recommend it!) I began to think about how most of the movies I like take place in NYC. When Harry Met Sally, my second favorite movie of all time, brings the title characters to the city after college. 13 Going on 30: New York. West Side Story: NYC.
The city, even after all these years, seems to be the place to go to make dreams come true. Its timeless draw to the young, idealistic men and women it continues to bring in is just fascinating. I myself have never been there and the last time I visited was 10 years ago, but I plan to get back as soon as I can.
Basically, I would love to hear your New York stories. What are your favorite New York movies? Have you lived in New York? Do you live there now? What do you think is the draw to the city?

I live in New York and I think Jamia put it perfectly. When you’re in a bad mood, New York is the worst possible place to be… but for the other 99% of your time, I pretty sure it’s the most romantic, exciting, place in the world. There is so much to do in the city and there is just so much potential to get your dreams into action here.
